One career, five disciplines

A perspective built in the classroom, on the street, and on the air.

Dr. Kenneth Harris, Jr. brings together decades of experience across law enforcement, higher education, broadcasting, organizational leadership, public policy, and community service. He began in media, served a full career with the Milwaukee Police Department and retired at the rank of lieutenant, and now teaches, writes, and comments on the justice questions facing American institutions.

That combination is the point. Scholarship without practice stays theoretical; practice without scholarship stays anecdotal. Dr. Harris works in the space between them — translating research for practitioners, and translating hard-won operational experience for students, policymakers, and the public.
